The Sounders FC joined Adidas, MLS Works, Southern New Hampshire University, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation to unveil the new mini-soccer field at Beverly Park on April 27.
The school's new min-pitch is one of 20 that are being built in under-served communities across North America. Each new mini-pitch offers students a safe place to play while providing a soccer environment that encourages unstructured play and growth of the game.
During the dedication ceremony, high school junior Eddie Ruvalcaba received a scholarship to attend Southern New Hampshire University. Up until recently, he attended Global Connections High School. Eddie coaches and volunteers with Washington Youth Soccer. He is undecided on a major but would like to study something that allows him to work with his hands and give back to the community.
Thank you to Sounders FC, Adidas, MLS Works, Southern New Hampshire University, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation for your donation and support of our students!
