Capital Facilities Advisory Committee

Capital Facilities Advisory Committee In order to meet our bold goals for students, Highline Public Schools must have school facilities that support our educational programs. Currently, many of our school facilities are not adequate to meet the needs of students.

Public schools belong to the entire community, and funding for capital improvements is generated though voter-approved bond measures. It is essential that community members participate in developing the District’s long term capital facility plan to ensure that it reflects the values and priorities of the community.

In September 2015, Highline Public Schools convened a Capital Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC) to develop recommendations for a long-term capital facility plan. The 40 community members who make up CFAC represent every part of the district.

CFAC met monthly for a year to study the district's facilities needs, review data such as enrollment projections and building conditions, and develop a plan designed to meet the needs of students over the next 20 years.
