In Washington state, high school students are required to complete a minimum number of credits to graduate. The state changed the minimum number of required credits to 24 starting with the Class of 2019. Highline recieved a waiver from the state to postpone the start of the new state graduation requirements until 2021. The 2018 credit requirements will be in place through 2020.
The College & Career Readiness Committee meets twice a month to plan for the change in credit requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all high schools provide students with access to the learning opportunities needed to prepare all students for further education. The committee will address:
